The zBoost Signal Mapper application for the iPhone and iPad will allow the user to map the cellular signal strength at every location where the device is located. This information can be used to improve the cellular signal by helping to install equipment more effectively that will boost this cellular signal.

How does this app help the cell phone?
The app will give a link to the Wi-Ex set of products designed to improve indoor cellular coverage at very affordable prices. Then the app can be used to map the exact cellular signal strength outside of the home or business where the booster is being installed. The installation for a booster requires mounting an antenna outdoors to capture the cellular signal, and the results of the signal mapping help determine the best location for this antenna.

How do I use the app?
Start up the app on an iPhone or iPad, then click on the “Start” button to begin mapping the cellular signal strength. The app will show the signal strength as a colored dot on a map, and then as you walk around there will be more dots placed on the map using a color associated with the signal strength (bright green for strongest signal, down to dark red for the weakest). Simply walk around the outside of the building that will have the booster installed; the location(s) that shows the brightest green will be the ideal location for the outside antenna installation. In just a few minutes the exact location of where to install and aim the outside antenna can be determined, and then you can enjoy a very good cell phone signal!

This application can also be used to examine the cellular signal strength for a larger area, such as mapping the signal as you drive to work. Simply click on the “Street” button to get a street view of the map and then drive around. This may explain why you have dropped calls while you’re driving, in which case you may want to look into a YX240 cellular booster for the car.
